New Divorce law for Hindus
Currently India has lowest divorce rate (1%) compare to western countries (50%) and it seems Supreme Court has taken responsibility to bring it to 50%
Currently there was a 6 months cooling off period for married couples seeking
Divorce
But yesterday Supreme Court took exceptional decision and invoked powers of article 142 and removed this cooling period of 6 months when relationship is irrevocable
Article 142 of constitution gives power to Supreme Court to pass judgement when there is no law
This 6 months cooling period was to stop couples from taking decision in heat of moment n stopped many divorce
Now they can get divorce immediately
This rule will be applicable only for Hindus.
